Knyazhii

Knyazhii — this is a confectionery sunflower variety belonging to the medium-maturing group with a vegetative period of about 110 days. Plants reach a height of 185–195 cm and are characterized by large seeds, ensuring high seed quality. The 1000-seed mass is 140–145 g, and the oil content of the seeds reaches 48.7%, making the variety attractive for confectionery production.

The variety is distinguished by high yield, with average yields ranging from 3.0 to 3.54 t/ha, with the maximum yield achieved during trials reaching 4.85 t/ha. Knyazhii is well-adapted to various soil-climatic conditions, including the forest-steppe and steppe zones of Ukraine, and shows drought resistance, expanding its cultivation potential.

One of the key advantages of this variety is its high resistance to diseases such as downy mildew, sunflower rust, phomopsis, and rot. This reduces the risk of yield losses and lowers costs for plant protection. However, the variety does not tolerate dense planting, requiring optimal planting density to achieve maximum productivity.
