The NS-H-6042 sunflower hybrid is a mid-early maturing variety with a vegetation period of 110 to 115 days. Plants reach a height of 155–170 cm and have a well-developed vegetative mass, large convex heads with a diameter of 22–26 cm. Seeds are large, black, containing 50.0–52.0 % oil and 16.0–18.0 % protein, ensuring high product quality.

This hybrid exhibits high resistance to several dangerous diseases, including rust, Phomopsis, sunflower moth, white mold, and downy mildew. Due to its good drought tolerance and response to mineral nutrition, NS-H-6042 shows stable and high yields, potentially reaching 5 tons per hectare (50 c/ha). The recommended plant density at harvest is 50–55 thousand per hectare.
