Sunflower A 42 is a mid-early hybrid with a maturation period of approximately 109-114 days, allowing effective use in various climatic conditions. Plants reach a height of 155 to 180 cm, have large black seeds, and flower heads with a diameter of 20-26 cm, thin and convex in shape. The root system is strong and branched, enabling efficient use of soil moisture up to 2 meters deep and contributing to drought resistance. The recommended planting density before harvest is 55-60 thousand plants per hectare.

The hybrid exhibits high resistance to major sunflower diseases, including Phomopsis, white mold, rust, and sunflower moth infestation, confirmed by high resistance scores (up to 10 points). Additionally, A 42 shows resistance to seven races of the parasitic weed — sunflower菟丝子 — significantly reducing yield losses. An important feature is compatibility with herbicides based on imazamox and imazapir, such as Tor-Lightning, Vitalight, Genesis, and others, ensuring effective weed and菟丝子 control at a rate of 1-1.2 liters per hectare.

The hybrid’s yield potential reaches 48-58 centners per hectare, with seed protein content ranging from 16% to 19%, making it attractive for producing high-quality oil and feed. Seeds are calibrated, treated, and packaged in reliable three-layer paper bags with holograms, ensuring high quality and preservation of planting material.
