Sunflower Hysun 310 SU

Stability and Performance: A Field Perspective

When selecting a sunflower hybrid for fields with high weed pressure, Hysun 310 SU from Corteva has proven itself as a reliable tool. Being a three-line hybrid, it exhibits a level of plasticity that compensates for minor agronomic shortcomings, ensuring a consistent stand even under variable conditions. It is not just about genetics; it is about how the plant performs in the real-world operational cycle.

Clearfield System Management

The primary advantage of Hysun 310 SU is its full compatibility with the 'Euro-Lightning' (Clearfield) herbicide system. For a farm manager, this means operational peace of mind. The hybrid handles the treatment efficiently without stalling its development, which is critical for suppressing perennial weeds that would otherwise compromise yields.

Agronomic Characteristics and Harvestability

• Growing Season: 110–120 days. This mid-maturing timeframe allows for a smooth harvest schedule, avoiding late-season bottlenecks.
• Plant Height: 170–180 cm. The plants remain upright and uniform, which minimizes header losses during combining and ensures high mechanical efficiency.
• Oil Content: 50–55%. This consistent performance is a significant factor in securing better market prices.

Regarding plant health, the susceptibility to diseases like Downy Mildew (Peronospora), Phomopsis, and Phoma—which often cause headaches—is remarkably low with Hysun 310 SU. The flower heads remain healthy and clean until maturation, ensuring high grain quality.

If you are looking for a hybrid that combines the effectiveness of the Clearfield system with high oil output, this Corteva variety is a solid investment that pays off through clean fields and reliable tonnage.
