The sunflower hybrid GUSAR is a medium-early universal variety adapted for various cultivation technologies, including Clearfield®. It is characterized by high productivity potential and resistance to the herbicide Euro-Lightning®, ensuring effective weed control. GUSAR features a large drooping head, which reduces bird damage and helps preserve the yield. The high oil content in seeds—ranging from 50% to 52%—makes this hybrid attractive for producing oilseed products. Yield can reach 40 centners per hectare, confirming its high productivity. The GUSAR hybrid exhibits good drought resistance and tolerance to various stress factors, ensuring stable yields under complex climatic conditions. It shows high resistance to diseases such as downy mildew, rots, and dodder, as well as high resistance to lodging and seed shattering. These qualities make it a reliable choice for cultivation in various regions, including the Central Black Earth, North Caucasus, Middle Volga, Lower Volga, West Siberia, and Ural regions, as well as in the conditions of the Polesie, Forest Steppe, and Northern Steppe of Ukraine. In terms of morphological characteristics, GUSAR is a plant of medium height without branching, with medium-sized green leaves and weak blistering. Ligulate flowers have a narrowly ovoid shape and yellow coloration; tubular flowers are also yellow with anthocyanin-colored stigmas. Seeds are of medium size, narrowly ovoid in shape, with a predominantly black coloration. Average yield in various regions reaches 20.7 centners per hectare, with maximum indicators up to 38 centners. Fat content in seeds is about 48.2%, ensuring an average oil collection level of 8.8 centners per hectare.
