The sunflower hybrid 8 X 288 CLDM is a medium-early variety with an intensive growth type and no branching. The plant is of medium height, reaching about 160-170 cm, with leaves of medium to large size and green coloration without anthocyanin pigmentation. The head is of medium size, oriented from half-turned downwards to fully turned downwards, seeds are narrowly egg-shaped, of medium thickness, with a main black coloration and gray stripes. The mass of 1000 seeds is approximately 54.5 g, which indicates good quality of the seed material.

The hybrid is characterized by high resistance to rust, including races from A to G, as well as tolerance to white mold and other fungal diseases such as gray and dry rot, rust, and phoma. This ensures yield stability and reduces losses under unfavorable weather conditions. The vegetative period is from 105 to 118 days, which allows the hybrid to be successfully grown in various climatic zones, including Polesie, Forest-steppe, Northern steppe, as well as the Central Black Earth, North Caucasian, Middle Volga, Lower Volga, Ural, and Western Siberian regions.

Average seed yield reaches 27.6-30.9 c/ha in various regions, confirming the high productivity of the hybrid. The recommended plant density at the time of harvest is 50-60 thousand plants per hectare. The hybrid is intended for cultivation using Clearfield and Clearfield Plus technology, which allows for effective weed control and improved product quality. The main direction of seed use is linoleic oil production, with an oil content of about 50%, making this hybrid attractive to the oil industry.
