L'govsky MS 35 is a sugar beet variety belonging to the technical crop group. It is a first-generation hybrid characterized by high yield and medium maturity. This variety was registered in 1993 and is intended for cultivation in the Middle Volga region, including territories such as the Republic of Mordovia, the Republic of Tatarstan, Samara and Ulyanovsk Oblasts. The variety was developed by FGZNU "A.L. Mazlumov All-Russian Sugar Beet and Sugar Research Institute" and L'govskaya Experimental-Selection Station.
L'govsky MS 35 sugar beet is distinguished by stable productivity and is adapted to the conditions of its cultivation regions. Thanks to breeding work, the variety has balanced agronomic characteristics, making it in demand for technical use in the sugar industry. The medium-maturing period allows for effective planning of agricultural technical measures and obtaining a quality harvest.
Studies conducted in the field of sugar beet genetics revealed molecular variations in the powdery mildew resistance gene PMR5 in some hybrids, however, information on the presence of this gene in the L'govsky MS 35 variety is absent. This underscores the need for further study and possible improvement of the variety's resistance to diseases. Overall, L'govsky MS 35 is a reliable and time-tested sugar beet variety suitable for industrial cultivation in the specified regions.
