SMART KALLEDONIA KWS

Sugar beet variety SMART KALLEDONIA KWS is a hybrid with high root yield and medium-late harvest dates. This variety features a technologically advantageous root shape and high sugar yield per hectare, making it attractive for farmers focused on maximizing production efficiency. SMART KALLEDONIA KWS belongs to the normal type N and exhibits comprehensive resistance to major diseases such as Aphanomyces, Fusarium, powdery mildew, and rust, significantly reducing the risk of crop losses.

The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in the Central Chernozem region and zones 5 and 9, where it demonstrates stable yield and quality performance. The average root weight is approximately 518.8 grams, and the average yield reaches 442.1 centners per hectare. Sugar content in the roots is 16.3%, ensuring a sugar harvest of 73.2 centners per hectare. The variety shows moderate resistance to Phytophthora root rot and powdery mildew, but is susceptible to root maggots and cercosporosis. Additionally, the hybrid is resistant to ALS-inhibitor-based herbicides, facilitating weed control in crops.

SMART KALLEDONIA KWS is part of the innovative CONVIZO® SMART system developed by KWS ZAAT SE and the agricultural division of Bayer. This technology reduces the number of crop treatments, increases yield, and enhances the economic efficiency of sugar beet production. Implementation of the hybrid within the CONVIZO® SMART system has already shown positive results at the "Agro LV Limited" farm in Lviv Oblast, where increased productivity and reduced costs for plant protection have been observed.
