Romantica is a high-yielding medium-early table beet variety with a vegetative period of 85 to 110 days, allowing for a quality harvest within optimal timeframes. The root crops have a conical or spherical shape, weighing from 120 to 400 grams, with a diameter of about 12-15 cm. They do not crack and are easily pulled from the soil, while penetrating into it by about half their length. The beet meat is dark red with a burgundy hue, juicy, tender, and sweet, with weakly expressed rings, making it versatile for various culinary purposes.
The Romantica variety is distinguished by its high resistance to bolting and ensures a high yield of marketable produce, confirmed by yields of up to 5-6 kg per square meter. The beets are well-preserved until spring, allowing for winter storage and processing. Thanks to its adaptability, the variety is successfully grown on any soil types and is suitable for all climate zones of Ukraine.
To achieve maximum yield, it is recommended to sow seeds at a depth of about 2 cm, followed by thinning seedlings in two stages: the first when the first two pairs of true leaves develop, and the second when the root crops reach a diameter of 2-3 cm. Regular watering, weeding, loosening, and fertilizing are required during growth, which contributes to the development of healthy and large root crops.
