FRINE soy is a high-yielding variety with a maturity period of 98-102 days, combining maximum profitability and stable yields under various growing conditions. This variety is characterized by high protein content — from 41 to 43%, and a significant oil level in the seeds — 20-21%. The plant has a semi-determinate growth habit, with row widths ranging from 12.5 to 35 cm and a thousand-seed weight between 170-210 grams. A distinguishing feature is its light yellow seed hilum and good disease resistance, which contributes to obtaining a high-quality, well-formed crop.
The optimal sowing period for FRINE soy falls in the third decade of April and the first decade of May, when the topsoil has warmed to 12-14°C. The seeding rate depends on the variety type and weed control methods, and for this variety, 450-550 thousand seeds per hectare are recommended. Soy is a light-loving plant, poorly tolerant of shade, so it is important to ensure sufficient light for maximum productivity. For sowing, seeds are packed in big-bags of 1000 kg, which is convenient for large agricultural enterprises.
Soy as a crop enjoys steady demand in food and industrial sectors, as confirmed by global production forecasts, which may reach around 395 million tons in the 2022/23 marketing year. In Ukraine, the area under soy is continuously increasing, despite competition from global leaders such as the USA, Brazil, and Argentina. The profitability of soy cultivation in the country is around 34%, making it an advantageous crop for farmers. To achieve optimal results, it is recommended to apply modern cultivation technologies aimed at increasing yield and protein content, in line with European standards for agriculture.
