Field Performance of Brunensis Soybean

When selecting seed material, stability is my top priority. The Brunensis variety from Semences Prograin has proven itself to be a reliable choice for farmers looking to mitigate risks associated with white mold (Sclerotinia). From a management perspective, this variety is forgiving and doesn't require overly complex agronomic interventions to perform well.

Agronomic Characteristics

In the field, the uniform growth is immediately noticeable. The plant height ranges from 70 to 90 cm, which makes it very convenient for harvesting. My combines run smoothly through these fields, minimizing losses at the header. The growth period of 100–120 days is quite flexible, allowing us to plan the harvest window effectively depending on seasonal weather patterns.

Grain Quality and Laboratory Results

For profitability, the quality of the beans is just as important as the yield per hectare. Brunensis consistently delivers in the lab:

• Protein content: 41–43%, which meets the high-quality standards expected by processors.
• Oil content: 20–21%, a solid and consistent metric for oilseed producers.

The most significant practical advantage I’ve found is the variety's resistance to white mold. In humid seasons, when other fields struggle with pathogens, Brunensis remains healthy, which effectively reduces my expenditure on fungicide applications. By managing planting density correctly, you allow the plants to branch out, resulting in a healthy, full-podded crop. It is a no-nonsense variety that provides a predictable return on investment.
