Sunflower Goduvalnyk

Stable yields under high-pressure conditions

The «Hoduvanyk» sunflower hybrid, developed by the V.Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute, is a strategic asset for farmers utilizing the Clearfield (Euro-Lightning) system. Unlike many alternatives that demand ideal growth conditions, this hybrid demonstrates remarkable plasticity in areas where weed infestation and broomrape (Orobanche) pressure are significant concerns.

Key advantages for your farm

• Optimized Herbicide Management: The inherent resistance to Euro-Lightning allows for a single-pass control of a wide spectrum of broadleaf and grass weeds, significantly reducing mechanical field operations and labor costs.
• Early Maturation as a Risk Mitigation Strategy: With a growing season of 90–100 days, this sunflower serves as a reliable option for regions with volatile climates. It effectively completes its development cycle before the peak of summer drought, protecting yield potential.
• High Oil Content: An oil concentration of 45–50% makes the harvested grain highly sought after by processing plants, ensuring better market premiums.

Practical Considerations

The primary strength of «Hoduvanyk» lies in the blend of established Ukrainian breeding tradition and modern technological requirements. This hybrid is optimal for producers seeking a balance between predictable yields and affordability, avoiding the premium price tags of imported seeds. While it is highly efficient, it requires careful rotation planning due to the herbicide residual effects associated with the Clearfield technology. It is a robust, low-maintenance solution designed to deliver consistent results in the hopper without excessive overheads.
