SUM305 / ZUM305

Hybrid sweet corn ZUM 305 is a versatile variety designed for high-quality grain and silage production. This hybrid is widely used in agriculture, especially for animal feed, due to its high productivity and adaptability. The highest yield potential of ZUM 305 is demonstrated in Steppe and Forest-Steppe regions, where growing conditions maximize its performance. Plants feature vigorous growth, height ranging from 240 to 280 cm, and well-developed leaf surface, which ensures the 'stay green' effect — prolonged retention of green leaf and stalk tissue even at grain harvest maturity. This trait is particularly valuable for silage production, where maintaining the nutritional value of green mass is crucial.

Hybrid ZUM 305 exhibits high resistance to temperature fluctuations and stress conditions, including drought and heat, as well as tolerance to low spring temperatures. It is adapted to various cultivation technologies, including conventional and intensive methods, and tolerates minimal soil tillage. Plants form elongated ears with 16–18 rows and 32–36 kernels per row, with 1000-kernel weight ranging from 335–340 grams. Ear attachment height is within 100–110 cm, and lodging resistance is very high, contributing to yield retention.

Successful cultivation of this hybrid requires adequate soil moisture and application of plant protection products, especially herbicides, which effectively control weeds during early vegetative stages. ZUM 305 shows high resistance to fungal diseases, including helminthosporiosis (very high resistance), girdle disease, and stalk fusarium. Yield potential exceeds 17 tons per hectare under optimal conditions. Seeds are supplied in 50,000-seed bags and treated with Redigo M 120 FS for disease protection and improved germination.
