Rona

Sunflower Rona is a medium-maturing trihybrid of linoleic type with a vegetation period from 110 to 118 days, intended for cultivation in the Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones of Ukraine. This hybrid was developed in accordance with modern agronomic technologies and is resistant to the herbicide Granstar, ensuring effective weed control and promoting stable plant growth. Rona features uniform flowering and maturation, facilitating harvest and reducing yield losses.

The hybrid exhibits high resistance to downy mildew, including up to six races (A-F), as well as lodging, false powdery mildew, gray and white rot. Plants reach a height of 160-180 cm and have large, flat-headed heads with a diameter of 15-24 cm. Seeds are characterized by high germination energy (96%), germination rate (97%), and low moisture content (around 7.9%). The 1000-seed mass ranges from 77-85 g, and oil content in the seeds reaches 51-52%, which is an important indicator for oilseed crops.

The yield of the Rona hybrid is stable and can reach 4.5 t/ha, with a potential of up to 47 c/ha. The hybrid demonstrates excellent drought tolerance and low shattering at maturity, making it a reliable choice for regions with insufficient moisture. The recommended planting density varies depending on moisture conditions: 50-55 thousand plants per hectare for zones with insufficient moisture and 60-65 thousand for zones with adequate moisture. All these characteristics make Rona an effective and promising hybrid for obtaining high-quality sunflower yields.
