Sunflower San Luka

San Luka — a promising sunflower hybrid designed for cultivation in various regions, including the Central Chernozem and Volga regions. This mid-season hybrid has a vegetative period ranging from 98 to 125 days depending on the region, ensuring early flowering and stable maturation. Plants reach an average height of about 159 cm, with a flower head diameter of 22-24 cm, promoting efficient yield formation. The 1000-seed mass varies from 49 to 70 g, and the oil content in the seeds is approximately 48-50%, making San Luka attractive for oil production.

The hybrid exhibits high resistance to diseases, including false powdery mildew and Phomopsis, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss and minimizing the need for intensive chemical protection. Plant uniformity reaches 100%, facilitating mechanized harvesting and improving overall cultivation efficiency. The recommended planting density is 51-56 thousand plants per hectare, which contributes to achieving a potential yield of 3.4 to 4.4 tons per hectare.

San Luka demonstrates high yield performance under various climatic conditions: in the Central Chernozem region, the average yield is around 33.5 c/ha with maximum yields up to 41.5 c/ha, while in the Volga region, it is approximately 18.6 c/ha with maximum values reaching 29.5 c/ha. The average oil content in the seeds varies from 47.8% to 49.3%, ensuring high oil extraction — up to 13.4 c/ha under favorable conditions. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, the San Luka hybrid is a reliable choice for agricultural producers seeking stable and high sunflower yields.
