SUNNY IMI sunflower is a hybrid developed by the "Novi Sad" Institute, a Serbian selection. This variety is intended for intensive cultivation, as it efficiently absorbs large amounts of stimulants and fertilizers. SUNNY IMI is adapted for herbicide application in the Clearfield technology (imidazolinone group), enabling effective weed control without harming the crop.
The hybrid exhibits high resistance to major sunflower diseases, including frogepsis, fomosis, sclerotiniosis, alternaria, downy mildew, rust, and fusarium. Plant height reaches 1.65–1.70 meters, and the vegetation period lasts 115–118 days. The potential yield of this variety reaches 4.38 tons per hectare, at a recommended planting density of 55,000–58,000 plants per hectare. The seeds are cleaned and treated using CIMBRIA HEID technology, ensuring high quality and readiness for planting.
The oil content in SUNNY IMI sunflower seeds is 48–50%, making this hybrid attractive for oil production. Due to its characteristics and disease resistance, this variety is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality sunflower yields.
