Sunflower SAMUELA

French genetics for consistent performance

The «Samuela» sunflower hybrid from Maisadour Semences represents years of European breeding efforts aimed at creating a robust plant capable of effectively resisting biological threats in intensive farming conditions. Developed by the MAS Seeds team, this hybrid has earned a reputation as a reliable asset for agronomists operating in areas with high infection pressure.

Defensive capabilities

The primary advantage of this hybrid is its genetic resistance to the most critical diseases that typically impact production profitability. The breeding focus was placed on several key factors:

• Sclerotinia: The hybrid shows increased tolerance, minimizing the risk of head and stem rot, even during seasons with high humidity levels favorable for pathogens.
• Phoma: Comprehensive resistance allows the foliage to remain healthy until late autumn, which is essential for proper seed filling and grain weight.

«Samuela» seeds are classified as medium-sized, ensuring optimal flowability in precision planters and stable emergence. Maisadour quality standards guarantee high germination energy, providing a significant advantage during early sowing in cold soil conditions.

Agronomic value

By choosing «Samuela», farmers invest in result predictability. This hybrid demonstrates excellent adaptability to various soil and climatic conditions across Europe. It is the ideal solution for those looking to minimize fungicide application by relying on the crop’s inherent immunity. Thanks to the expertise of the originators at Mas Seeds, the hybrid is optimally balanced regarding its growth cycle, facilitating efficient management of the harvesting season.
