Tundra Spinach F1 — an early hybrid developed by the Dutch company Enza Zaden, intended for cultivation using the baby leaf technique. This variety features a strong root system, enabling it to successfully withstand dry periods and making it especially suitable for cultivation in southern regions. Tundra F1 can be grown outdoors from mid-April to late June, as well as in greenhouses, polytunnels, or even on balcony beds and windowsills, ensuring flexibility in growing conditions and year-round access to fresh greens.
The plant prefers neutral, fertile soil, requires regulated watering and regular loosening. Spinach exhibits high resistance to downy mildew, which reduces disease risk and increases yield. The leaves of Tundra F1 are succulent, with a rich dark green color, glossy surface, and oval shape, possessing excellent texture and outstanding flavor. Due to its slow growth rate and resilience to adverse conditions, the greens maintain high marketability and can be stored for a long time after cutting.
Tundra Spinach F1 is intended for fresh consumption, but also suits thermal processing and freezing for winter storage. It is ideal for producing baby leaf salads and can be grown both outdoors in summer and indoors. To preserve product quality, it is recommended to store it in a dry, cool place.
