Robinson

Robinson lettuce is a mid-early maturity head lettuce type Iceberg, developed by the Dutch breeding company Hazera. It is characterized by high adaptability and is suitable for cultivation both in open and protected ground throughout the year. The vegetative period ranges from 45 to 58 days, allowing harvest in different seasons. The plant has a strong root system and tolerates sharp temperature fluctuations, short-term frosts, and stressful growing conditions, with no tendency to bolt or crack under overripening.

Robinson lettuce heads have a round shape, dense structure, and a rich emerald-green color with a slight yellowish tint. The weight of one head varies from 500 to 900 grams depending on growing conditions. Leaves are whole, crisp, juicy, and free of bitterness, ensuring excellent taste. The lettuce pairs well with meat, fish, and other vegetables, making it a versatile ingredient in cooking.

The variety is highly resistant to major diseases such as downy mildew, mosaic virus, false powdery mildew, and lettuce aphid. It is also tolerant to root lettuce aphid and tip burn. The harvest remains fresh and withstands transportation, making Robinson popular for commercial cultivation and distribution.
