Taganskaya Semko is an early-maturing two-rowed thin-leaved variety, which is ready for consumption quickly: greens appear 20‑25 days after sprouts emerge. The plant has a semi-erect rosette 15–20 cm high and weighing about 90–100 grams (on average 20–25 g per leaf), consisting of medium dark-green leaves with a smooth surface and serrated edges. The leaves have a bright aroma and a sharp, slightly bitter taste reminiscent of annual arugula.
The variety is distinguished by high yield – up to 1.3–1.5 kg/m² with proper care. It withstands cold well, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions. Leaves are easy to transport and maintain their market appearance, so Taganskaya Semko is suitable for both home gardens and commercial production.
Care for the plant is simple: sowing can be carried out in early spring or autumn; the soil should be fertile and well-drained. The plant does not require complex measures for protection against pests and diseases, making it an ideal choice for those looking for a "plant-and-forget" option for greens.
