Hawthorn 'Bushing' is a large-fruited variety of Chinese hawthorn, characterized by a dense and spreading crown up to 4 meters high and about 6 meters wide. The shrub is thornless on branches and trunk, has dark green, deeply dissected, smooth and matte leaves, and shoots of medium thickness with a small number of single thorns in the middle part.
The fruits of 'Bushing' are large (up to 20 g) and have a yellow-orange color. The taste is sour-sweet, without a strong aroma, and are densely covered with a thick skin, which ensures good preservation until spring. Berries ripen in early September, and the plant begins to bear fruit from the third year after planting.
The variety is characterized by high frost resistance, drought resistance, and heat resistance, does not require special soil conditions - grows on loose, moist, loamy soil. It is light-loving, but perfectly withstands partial shade. Thanks to decorative qualities and unpretentious care, 'Bushing' is widely used as a fruit shrub in masses, hedges, and row plantings, as well as as a medicinal plant in phytotherapy.
