TIMIRYAZEVEC

Hawthorn "Timiryazevets" – a spreading tree with a straight trunk and smooth bark, on the surface of which shallow cracks are visible. Branches are slightly drooping, and leaves of a rich green color create a dense foliage. The fruits are large, red in color, round in shape, weighing from four to five grams. The berries are juicy and sour-sweet, without a noticeable aroma, with skin of medium thickness.

The plant is distinguished by high frost resistance – it withstands temperatures down to thirty-five degrees Celsius. At the same time, "Timiryazevets" cannot tolerate prolonged drought and does not require watering; in dry conditions its growth slows down, so to ensure optimal development, moderate soil moisture must be provided. The height of the bush varies from four to six meters depending on growing conditions.

The fruit ripening period begins in mid-September, and the yield is not less than ten kilograms from one bush. The berries contain about 6.1% sugar and 0.7 mg of vitamin C per 100 g of product. The plant is resistant to diseases and pests, which makes it easy to care for: minimum activities are required to maintain the health of the bush. The flowering period is May-June, after which fruiting follows.
