The OLIJGLAME rose, also known as Red Berlin, is a tea-hybrid variety bred by Olij Rozen BV from the Netherlands in 1997. This variety is characterized by a rich dark-red color and striking velvety conical buds. The flower diameter reaches 10-15 cm, and the dense petals open very slowly, ensuring a long-lasting bloom period of 20-25 days. The flower center retains its shape even when wilting, and the bright petal tone does not fade under direct sunlight. A delicate classic aroma complements the aesthetic perception of this variety. The rose bushes are upright and sturdy, reaching a height of 80 to 160 cm and a width of up to 80 cm. Canes are resilient to loads during flowering and do not bend towards the ground. Leaves are large, dark green with a shiny surface, and thorns are of medium density and reddish-brown color. Stems are sturdy; in the first stage of flowering, single terminal buds form on the bush, while in the second wave, clusters of 3 flowers form. The rose is resistant to diseases such as powdery mildew and black spot, and possesses moderate drought and heat tolerance. This variety is intended for cutting and cultivation in heated greenhouses, demonstrating high productivity — up to 140-170 flowers per square meter per year. Cut flowers maintain freshness for 7 to 25 days, making the OLIJGLAME rose an excellent choice for decorative use and floristry. The rose prefers sunny locations and is suitable for cultivation in areas with a moderate climate, ensuring prolonged and abundant flowering.
