Zucchini GOLDEN MEDALLION

Field Performance: Efficiency and Compactness

Working with the 'Golden Medallion' variety proves that compact bush architecture is a key factor in efficient field management. Unlike trailing varieties that consume excessive space, these plants are easy to space and maintain. We recommend a spacing of 70-80 cm to ensure the center of the bush gets adequate airflow and light, which is critical for achieving that signature golden-yellow skin color.

Operational Insights

• Predictable Yield: The fruits maintain a consistent weight range of 200-500 grams. This uniformity is a major advantage for commercial harvest, as you don't have to sort through varying sizes; the crop is ready for market immediately upon picking.
• Handling and Transport: The cylindrical shape makes these zucchini easy to pack in standard crates without leaving dead space. While the skin is delicate enough for culinary quality, it is resilient enough to withstand mechanical handling during transport.
• Maintenance: Developed with the Vavilov Institute, this variety shows reliable adaptation to standard temperate climates. The main operational requirement is consistent soil moisture; avoid prolonged drought to prevent skin toughness and color fading.

'Golden Medallion' is for growers who prioritize consistency. There is no guesswork involved: the plant produces a uniform, high-quality crop that performs just as well in a home garden as it does on a commercial scale. By keeping the central foliage thinned for better ventilation, you can minimize the risk of powdery mildew and ensure the plant remains productive throughout the growing season.
