Description M 10
The MM-106 rootstock is a medium-sized clonal rootstock for stone fruits (Prunus L.), specifically plums. It was obtained by crossing the M1 and Northern Scout varieties, which ensures high productivity and good compatibility with all region-adapted and prospective varieties. The bush has a spreading crown, medium-thick shoots that are weakly jointed with a reddish-brown coloration, and leaves that are elongated, short-pointed, green with a bluish tint and finely serrated edges.

The rootstock is characterized by high resistance to adverse climatic conditions: it is drought-resistant, cold-hardy (roots withstand soil temperature drops to -12 °C) and capable of adapting to different soil types. Due to good physiological compatibility with region-adapted varieties, the rootstock can be used as a seed source and as a mother plant for vertical cuttings, forming up to six standard bushes per hectare.

Trees grafted onto this rootstock begin to bear fruit by the 3rd-4th year and reach a height of 3-4 meters. The planting scheme is typically 3 × 4 meters, which provides optimal space for growth and development. The productive period of the rootstock is estimated at 35-40 years, and the yield is high due to the combination of good disease resistance and favorable physiological compatibility with selected varieties.
