UPRAMETS

Wavy sorrel «UPRAMETS» is the result of selection by the All-Russian Research Institute of Plant Breeding and the Institute of Vegetable Crops Selection, authorized for use throughout Russia since 1990. The variety is characterized by high stalk yield (up to 5.5 kg/m²) and early maturity: only 41–44 days are required from spring regrowth to technical maturity. Leaves are large, spade-shaped, green, 68–83 cm high, about 135 cm in diameter, forming an elevated rosette.

«UPRAMETS» is resistant to the formation of generative shoots and ascchitosis, but is moderately damaged by pests. Thanks to high commercial qualities and disease resistance, it is suitable for both open ground and perennial cultivation. Stalks are light green, up to 180 g in weight, up to 55 cm in length, containing valuable organic acids.

The variety is widely used in processing: stalks are used to make compotes, jams, and other canned goods. When growing «UPRAMETS» forms a powerful rosette with large fleshy roots, while the stem is upright up to 2.5 m. Flowering occurs in June, and seeds ripen in July, which allows the plant to be used as a decorative-culinary product.
