Strawberry Florida Festival

Professional Yield Management with Florida Festival

The «Florida Festival» variety, developed by Florida Foundation Seed Producers, is a benchmark for growers seeking a balance between fruit size and market durability. In daily operations, this variety stands out for its reliability, offering consistent 40-50 gram berries that remain firm even after handling and logistics. Whether you are using greenhouses or open-field cultivation, the variety is designed to withstand typical stressors while maintaining high output.

Key Operational Advantages

• Extended Harvest Window: With a 35-40 day maturation cycle, the variety provides a sustained supply, allowing for better market penetration compared to short-season varieties.
• Reduced Input Costs: Its robust natural resistance to Anthracnose and Phytophthora root rot minimizes the need for heavy fungicide application, lowering your overall cost of production per hectare.
• Fruit Quality: The berries feature a distinct elongated shape and a vibrant red color. Because the fruit is dense, it offers superior shelf life, which is a major advantage for fresh market retail.

From an agricultural management perspective, it is important to note the -18°C cold tolerance. While this is sufficient for many regions, growers in colder climates should plan for additional frost protection to preserve the plantation. The variety responds exceptionally well to intensive fertigation programs, showing quick recovery and active fruit development. If you are looking for a universal, high-performance berry that combines ease of care with premium physical characteristics, this variety remains a top-tier choice for professional producers.
