ADVABEMAP — an early-ripening, remontant blackberry variety developed in the Netherlands as part of the Advanced berry breeding program in collaboration with the Spanish company Onubafruit, a leader in the European fruit market. This variety has gained wide recognition and commercial popularity in Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, and other European countries due to its high yield and adaptability. ADVABEMAP bushes are robust, upright, medium-height plants reaching approximately 150 centimeters, forming numerous lateral branches. Thick, thornless canes can support a significant fruit load without bending to the ground, although optimal growth is recommended on supports.
Seedlings grow vigorously, allowing the first harvest within the year of planting. The main fruiting occurs on one-year-old canes in early August. Berries are conical in shape, large in size — average weight is 5-7 grams — and retain their size until the final harvest. Fruits are firm, juicy, dark red in color with a characteristic gloss. The flavor is sweet, tender, and pleasant, with a distinctly raspberry aroma that remains even in cold or rainy weather. ADVABEMAP is suitable for both fresh consumption and processing.
With proper agronomic practices, yields of 2 to 2.5 kilograms per square meter can be achieved. Berries do not easily drop after ripening and maintain a fresh appearance after harvest without darkening. Due to large berries and simultaneous ripening, harvesting is quick and convenient, and thornless canes make the process pleasant and safe. Berries easily detach from the stem due to dry separation, and drupelets are tightly bonded, preventing breakage during harvesting. As a result, ADVABEMAP blackberries exhibit excellent appearance, high density, good transportability, and long storage capability.
