Hardie

Winter rape Hardie is a high-yielding mid-late hybrid developed by Saatbau and adapted for cultivation under various climatic conditions, including Ukraine. It features a long vegetation period of 300 to 315 days, with slow development in autumn, preventing excessive growth. Plant height ranges from 135 to 160 cm, providing resistance to lodging and breakage. The hybrid is suitable for sowing at different times: early (August 5–10), optimal (August 15–30), and late (September 1–5), with seeding rates of 350,000 to 600,000 seeds per hectare, allowing efficient use under diverse agronomic conditions.

Hardie exhibits high winter hardiness and drought resistance, making it a reliable choice for regions with variable climates. It possesses high resistance to major rape diseases, including fusarium, black leg, downy mildew, sclerotinia, alternaria, and bacterial blight. Additionally, the hybrid shows very high resistance to shattering and lodging, minimizing yield losses during late harvest. Its high oil content and low glucosinolate and erucic acid levels make Hardie valuable for producing high-quality rapeseed oil.

During the vegetation period, the hybrid plants show high resistance to pests and pathogens and exhibit rapid spring regrowth, enabling efficient use of soil moisture. Hardie pods are not prone to cracking or seed shattering, allowing for slight delays in harvest to ensure complete seed drying and convenient threshing at later stages. All these characteristics make Hardie an optimal choice for farmers seeking a stable and high-quality rape harvest under various cultivation conditions.
