Rapeseed Clarus

Stable yields in challenging conditions: The «Klarus» experience

When it comes to winter rapeseed, the agronomist's biggest fear is losing the crop to disease before flowering even begins. The German hybrid «Klarus» from Deutsche Saatveredelung is a prime example of genetics taking on the bulk of the work. Over years of field observation, this simple line hybrid has proven itself a robust choice for those prioritizing consistency and reliability.

Phytosanitary shield

The main advantage of «Klarus» that is visible to the naked eye is its resistance to disease. During wet autumns or mild winters, when phoma and alternaria blight start attacking crops, this variety holds strong. Its high resistance to downy mildew eliminates the need for extra spraying, directly lowering the production cost per ton.

Agronomic recommendations

The optimal planting density for «Klarus» ranges from 400,000 to 600,000 plants per hectare. Experience shows that on fertile soils, it is better to stick to the lower range to avoid intra-crop competition, while on poorer soils or late sowing dates, shifting toward 500,000-600,000 is recommended. The plant is responsive to inputs and, with proper management, consistently delivers 50-60 c/ha.

• Oil Content: Consistently high, at 45-50%, which is crucial for the final price when delivering to an elevator.
• Manageability: The hybrid is uniform and ripens evenly, simplifying harvesting for the operator and minimizing losses.
• Protection: A powerful genetic base against alternaria blight and sclerotinia provides breathing room when planning spray schedules.

«Klarus» is more than just seeds; it is a tool for a predictable farming business. It is forgiving of minor mistakes in crop rotation and field management, delivering reliable results where more demanding varieties begin to fail.
