Pumpkin Rekord

Managing Large-Scale Growth

The 'Record' variety is a specialized choice for growers targeting heavy-duty yields. This vining-type pumpkin requires significant field management. Given the potential fruit weight of 124 kilograms, successful cultivation relies on advanced planning of row spacing and logistics for harvest time. This isn't a standard pumpkin that can be managed manually; plan your machinery access accordingly.

Operational Guidelines

To ensure your crop reaches its full genetic potential, consider the following technical aspects:

• Spatial Requirements: As a vining plant, it demands extensive space. Inadequate spacing leads to poor air circulation, increasing susceptibility to foliage diseases.
• Nutrient and Water Management: The massive fruit development places enormous strain on the plant. Consistent, heavy irrigation and optimized nutrient input are non-negotiable to support such extreme mass.
• Harvest Logistics: Due to the 124 kg weight per fruit, handling is a key factor. Minimize physical movement to avoid skin damage, which is critical for long-term storage and marketability.

Developed by the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Production, this variety is well-adapted to specific regional conditions. Successful operation with 'Record' depends on strictly following an intensive cultivation schedule. When managed correctly, it is one of the few varieties capable of producing fruits of this scale.
