Zdobna — this is a winter soft wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) intensive-use variety, registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine in 2015. It is characterized by medium maturity and medium height with plant height of 105–110 cm, as well as a short stem. The variety belongs to the lutescens type and has increased frost resistance, rated at 7.5 points. Zdobna is distinguished by high seed yield, with 1000-grain weight of 41.3 g, and potential yield can reach 10 tons per hectare. This wheat variety is known for its high resistance to major diseases such as powdery mildew, brown rust, septoria, and scab, making it a reliable choice for cultivation under various agroclimatic conditions. Zdobna is not demanding in cultivation conditions and is suitable for use in both conventional and intensive technologies, including various preceding crops. The recommended sowing rate is 4.5 million germinated seeds per hectare for double-cropped areas and 5.5 million for non-double-cropped predecessors. To achieve maximum yield, it is necessary to protect plants from diseases and pests. Zdobna is recommended for cultivation in the Forest-steppe, Steppe, and Polissia zones of Ukraine. It is known as one of the most productive varieties of Ukrainian selection with an early-maturing period. According to 2015 data, average yield in the Forest-steppe zone was 8.4 t/ha, maximum — 10.8 t/ha, in Polissia — 8.75 t/ha, and in the Steppe — 8.9 t/ha. The grain of this variety is considered valuable for quality, making it promising for grain-oriented use.
