Description Memphis
The Memphis potato variety is a medium-early table type that matures in approximately 66 days. This variety features large elongated-oval tubers with red skin and light-yellow flesh after boiling. The average tuber size is about 83 mm, with shallow eyes that make peeling easier. Dry matter content reaches 19%, and starch content is 13.2%, ensuring good yield and making this potato versatile for various culinary uses. Memphis belongs to the culinary type AB, meaning slightly dense flesh texture and pleasant taste. It has high yield potential, ranging from 180 to 400 centners per hectare, and can produce 9 to 11 tubers per cluster. Memphis is resistant to drought, late blight, golden nematode, and potato cancer, making it a reliable choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions and on all soil types. Thanks to its excellent storage capacity (up to 95%), this variety retains its quality for a long time after harvest. Developed in the Netherlands and introduced to the market by HZPC, known for its high-quality planting material, this variety suits a wide range of culinary applications due to its structure and flavor profile. It has a slightly sweet taste and is suitable for preparing various dishes while preserving shape and texture after thermal processing.
