Poplar Bolid

Focusing on rapid growth and resilience: the «Bolid» poplar

In modern forestry and landscape design, the search for planting material that combines high growth rates with aesthetic appeal is a top priority. The «Bolid» variety, developed by experts at VNIILGSbiotech, represents the pinnacle of selective breeding aimed at creating poplar forms that are highly adapted to diverse climatic conditions.

Key Advantages

• High growth energy: «Bolid» demonstrates rapid accumulation of wood biomass, making it an ideal choice for plantation forestry and the swift creation of protective «green screens.»
• Adaptability: The originator, the All-Russian Research Institute of Forest Genetics, Breeding, and Biotechnology, has engineered a high level of vitality into the variety's genetic core, allowing it to thrive in various soil and environmental conditions.
• Decorative potential: Unlike many wild forms, «Bolid» boasts a more uniform crown structure and a healthy, vibrant appearance, highly valued in urban greening projects.

Who is this variety for?

«Bolid» is a reliable tool for professionals handling large-scale projects. Firstly, it is suited for forest industry companies interested in short-rotation forestry and high-quality raw material production. Secondly, it is an excellent choice for municipal landscaping services in need of low-maintenance, visually aesthetic plants for dust and noise mitigation.

It is important to note: like any specialized breeding material, «Bolid» requires proper adherence to agricultural practices during the initial planting stages. Ensuring optimal soil moisture and monitoring phytosanitary conditions during the first few years of growth will ensure that the full genetic potential provided by the VNIILGSbiotech researchers is realized.
