Bombarrier

The hybrid sunflower Bombarrier, registered in the State Register of Varieties of Ukraine in 2014, is an early-maturing Serbian selection, recommended for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones. It is characterized by high yield and adaptability to various climatic conditions, confirmed by stable results across different regions of Ukraine, including Poltava and Zaporizhzhia regions. High oil content of seeds (49-52%) and 1000-seed mass within the range of 55-65 grams make this hybrid attractive for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality and profitable yields.

One of the key features of Bombarrier is its high resistance to seven races of parasitic plant — rust — allowing cultivation even on infested soils with minimal losses. Additionally, the hybrid exhibits resistance to rust, false powdery mildew, as well as pests such as the sunflower moth and sunflower moth. Deep root system provides drought tolerance and promotes rapid early growth, helping quickly close inter-row spaces and suppress weed growth. Low plant height (150-170 cm) increases resistance to lodging, which is especially important under intensive cultivation technologies.

For optimal cultivation, the hybrid is suitable for both traditional and intensive technologies with the use of complex fertilizers and microelements. Recommended seeding density varies depending on the zone: 50-55 thousand plants per hectare in forest-steppe, 45-50 thousand in central steppe, and 40-48 thousand in southern steppe. Due to its plasticity and high genetic resistance to diseases and stress, the hybrid Bombarrier is suitable for a wide range of agronomic conditions and ensures stable and high yields even under extreme cultivation conditions.
