The variety 'Tatarian NIISS' was obtained by crossing 'Eurasia 21' x 'Renklod Tennykovsky'. Authors: G.E. Osipov, Z.A. Osipova, L.A. Sevastyanova. Undergoing state variety testing since 2004.
Tree medium-sized with a broadly oval crown of medium density and foliage; branch reddish-brown, glabrous, bud medium, small, distant from the branch; leaf blade broadly oval, inversely egg-shaped, medium to large size, green color, medium thickness, upper surface matte, slightly wrinkled, glabrous, lower surface weakly pubescent, doubly toothed; petiole medium length, with glands (2); petals slightly open; stamen number medium; stigma higher than stamens, glabrous; calyx bell-shaped; pedicel medium length, long, weakly pubescent. Flowering and fruiting type — fruiting spurs, cluster branches, one-year branches.
Fruit round, weighing 32 g, main color dark red, glabrous, waxy coating medium, apex rounded, base rounded, small pit, small, inconspicuous ventral suture, flesh light yellow, fine-grained fibrous, medium density, medium juiciness; pedicel medium length, long; stone broadly oval, weighing 1.2 g, 3.9% of flesh weight. Fruit appearance good; flesh sugar content medium, aroma medium, taste rating — good. Chemical composition of skin and flesh: dry matter content low (12.3%); free acids very high (2.1%); total sugars low (7.4%); ascorbic acid high (12.2 mg/100g). Fruit pedicel detachment dry; transportability good, utility purpose universal.
Flowering period 13–21 May; ripening period 17–31 August. Age of fruiting (after grafting in nursery) medium (4 years); plant longevity medium. Self-fertility poor. Visual yield assessment — good fruiting, regularity of fruiting — annual. Yield per tree — 18 kg.
