Description Andreyskaya
The variety was obtained at the Dubovsky Support Station of the Nizhnevolsky Research Institute of Fruit Growing by sowing seeds of the Anna Shpeta self-pollinating variety. Authors: R.V. Korneev, L.K. Zhukova. Under state variety testing since 1985.
Trees are vigorous, with medium-dense, rounded crowns. Bark on the trunk and main branches is gray, flaking. Branches depart from the trunk at nearly right angles. Branches are curved, gray, smooth. Shoots are medium in length and thickness, straight, gray-brown, with numerous lenticels. Buds are medium-sized, conical, brown, pressed close to the stem. Leaves are medium-sized, egg-shaped, ribbed, green on top and light green on the underside, short-pointed. Leaf blade is concave, curved upward. Base is rounded. Leaf margin is finely toothed. Petiole is short, slightly hairy, green, weakly pigmented. Two stamens, small, yellow. No trifoliate leaves. Flowers are double or triple, medium-sized, white, mid-season flowering.
Fruits are large, average fruit weight 35-40 g, one-dimensional, oval. Color is purplish-brown, with dense waxy coating. Apex is sunken. Seam is fine, barely noticeable. Fruit stalk is medium in length and thickness, straight. Flesh is light-pink, very juicy, tender, slightly tart-sweet, good taste. Juice is colorless. Stone is medium-sized, oval, pitted and ridged, separates well from flesh, 8-10% of the flesh weight. Fruits contain 22.4% dry matter, 14.79% sugars, 0.68% acids, 13.07 mg/100g ascorbic acid.
Flowering occurs in early May, fruit ripening in mid-September. Fruits can be stored in a cellar for up to one month. Fruit-bearing begins on the 4th-5th year after planting in orchards using one-year-old seedlings. Performs well on large-fruited thorn, domestic plum, and apricot rootstocks. Depending on the rootstock, tree longevity varies from 15 to 25 years. Fruit-bearing is concentrated mainly on one-year-old shoots and spurs. Self-fertile. Yield is regular and high. Average yield of 9-15-year-old trees was 50-55 kg per tree. Winter hardiness is good. Flower buds have increased winter hardiness. Susceptibility to diseases and pests is low. Transportability is good. Fruits are of universal use, suitable for fresh consumption and various processing methods, including drying. Suitable for intensive orchards.
Advantages of the variety: fruit quality, yield, transportability, good winter hardiness, self-fertility.
Disadvantages of the variety: fruits become smaller under heavy fruit load.
