Joker

Joker pepper is a medium-early hot variety characterized by a semi-spreading plant type reaching 75-80 cm in height. From germination to technical fruit ripeness, it takes approximately 110-120 days. The fruits have a horn-like shape with a strongly wrinkled surface, weighing 50-70 g and having wall thickness of about 3 mm. At biological ripeness, they turn into a deep red color. The yield of this variety is approximately 3.5-4 kg per square meter, making it attractive for cultivation both in open ground and under plastic coverings.

This pepper variety is valued not only for its spicy flavor, which is ideal for seasoning hot dishes and sauces, but also for its beneficial properties. Specific compounds in the fruits help strengthen the cardiovascular system, improve vision, stimulate hair growth, assist with insomnia, and enhance mood. The fruits can be used both fresh and dried as powder, expanding their applications in cooking and folk medicine.

The cultivation technology for Joker pepper includes sowing seedlings in early March, followed by transplanting 60-70-day-old seedlings according to a 50x35 cm scheme. For good growth and fruiting, timely watering, regular weeding, loosening, and mineral fertilizer applications are necessary. The plants require good lighting and can be shaped into a bush form without staking. Due to its resistance to dry air and self-pollination capability, the Joker variety is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and indoors, where it can be grown in pots and even during winter.
