Description Ukrainian Hot
The 'Ukrainian Hot' pepper variety is a mid-season type, primarily intended for cultivation in open ground. The vegetation period until technical maturity is about 110-120 days, and until biological maturity — 135-141 days. The plants of this variety are semi-determinate, weakly spreading, and reach a height of 25 to 40 cm, allowing them to be grown even in pots. The fruits have a conical shape, 5-7 cm long, weighing 8-15 grams, with thin walls of 1-1.5 mm thickness. In technical maturity, they are dark green, and at biological maturity, they turn into a rich red hue. The taste of the fruits is very spicy, with a strong aroma. The variety is characterized by high yield, reaching 70-120 centners per hectare, as well as resistance to low temperatures and diseases such as potato virus Y and tobacco mosaic virus (TMV). Due to these qualities, 'Ukrainian Hot' is suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including greenhouses and open ground. The fruits hang on the plant, facilitating harvesting. For optimal growth, seedlings are sown in February, so that by the time of transplanting into the soil, they reach an age of 90-100 days and have flowers and fruit set. Transplanting is carried out at the end of May — mid-June, with row spacing of 35x50 cm. The 'Ukrainian Hot' pepper is widely used as a spice in fresh and dried forms, as well as suitable for canning. Its spicy taste and rich aroma make it an indispensable ingredient in cooking. The low-growing compact form of the plant and its resistance to adverse conditions allow this variety to be grown both in open ground and in home conditions, for example, on windowsills or in pots.
