Abay

Abay F1 is an ultra-early hybrid pepper from the Dutch breeding company Enza Zaden, suitable for cultivation both in open ground and under cover. The plant is medium-height, compact, with a well-developed root system and abundant foliage, which promotes good growth and high yield. The hybrid is highly resistant to stress conditions, bacterial leaf spot, and tobacco mosaic virus, ensuring stable growth and fruit quality even under adverse weather conditions. Abay F1 responds well to drip irrigation and mulching, improving care and increasing cultivation efficiency.

The fruits are cube-shaped, measuring approximately 8 cm in diameter and up to 10 cm in length, weighing between 220 and 280 grams. The wall thickness reaches about 8 mm, making the fruits juicy and fleshy. In technical maturity, they are dark green, turning bright yellow upon biological maturity. The pepper has a rich, sweet taste and an attractive appearance, making it popular for fresh consumption, freezing, and processing. The fruits are well-suited for long-distance transportation without quality loss and retain their appearance for a long time on the plant.

The Abay F1 hybrid is suitable for first and second crop rotations, showing excellent results both in open ground and in plastic greenhouses. Thanks to its early maturity — the ripening period ranges from 50 to 65 days — it allows for an early harvest.
