Maranello pepper is a new hybrid of red block-shaped pepper, designed for professional cultivation in greenhouses. The plant is strong and compact, ensuring ease of care and harvest. The fruits are large — 85-95 mm in diameter and weighing from 190 to 264 grams, with bright red color at biological maturity. They have a smooth, glossy surface and 3-4 chambers inside, giving them an attractive appearance and high quality. The fruit walls are 7-9 mm thick, contributing to their density and good storage life.
This hybrid has a very early maturation period, allowing harvest as early as 101-104 days after germination. The pepper quickly changes color, making it easy to determine fruit ripeness. The plant shows high resistance to various diseases, including blossom end rot, skin cracking, and water-soaked spots on fruits. Thanks to this hybrid, high yields of standard produce are achieved, with a market yield of approximately 8 kg per square meter and a market product output of about 88.5%.
Maranello pepper is recommended for cultivation at relatively high temperatures, which contributes to its high productivity and fruit quality.
