Devito F1 is an ultra-early hybrid yellow pepper developed by the Dutch company Enza Zaden. This variety is characterized by its high early maturity — fruits ripen within 50-70 days after transplanting seedlings to their permanent location. The plant is robust, low-growing or tall, with dense, thick foliage that effectively protects fruits from sunburn and supports consistent fruiting even under adverse conditions. Devito F1 thrives both in open ground and protected soil, demonstrating high stress resistance and adaptability. Devito pepper fruits are large: length reaches 9-11 cm, diameter — 8-9 cm, and weight varies from 250 to 300 grams. They have a cube or conical shape, four-chambered, with extremely thick walls of 8-10 mm. In technical maturity, fruits are dark green, turning bright yellow or deep yellow upon biological maturity. The pepper is distinguished by high fruit uniformity, dense structure, and excellent flavor, with no tendency to crack, ensuring excellent marketability and attractive appearance. The Devito F1 hybrid is characterized by high yield and resistance to tobacco mosaic virus, as well as intermediate resistance to bronze virus. Fruits withstand transportation well and can be stored for a long time without quality loss. It is recommended to grow by seedling method, sowing seeds in January–March, followed by transplanting hardened seedlings after 7–8 weeks. Devito pepper is suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for thermal processing and canning, making it a versatile and in-demand variety for various purposes.
