Dexter

Dexter pepper is a medium-maturing hybrid with a semi-determinate, medium-height plant. The fruits have a cube-shaped form, glossy surface, and medium size with a weight of about 140 grams. In technical ripeness, they are light green, and in biological ripeness, they are red, with a wall thickness of about 7 mm and four chambers. The taste quality of fresh fruits is excellent, making this hybrid attractive to consumers. Dexter is resistant to major diseases of the crop, ensuring stable and high fruiting. The hybrid is adapted for cultivation in various climatic zones of Russia, including the Northern, Northwestern, Central, Volga-Vyatka, North Caucasus, Ural, West Siberian, East Siberian, and Far Eastern regions. It is well-suited for cultivation in plastic greenhouses, where commercial yield reaches 4.0 kg per square meter. Due to its disease resistance and adaptability, Dexter can be grown under various conditions with minimal care requirements. The plant features medium-sized green leaves and downward-facing fruits, facilitating harvest convenience. The hybrid was included in the State Register in 2021 and is the result of selection by MONSANTO VEGETABLE IP MANAGEMENT B.V. This pepper is ideal for cultivation in open ground and under cover, expanding its usability in various agrotechnical systems.
