SEIBOL

The Seibol Peony is an interspecific hybrid of herbaceous peony with a unique and rare flower coloration. The flower has a simple form, is double-ranked, and measures about 16-17 cm in diameter, with wide, rounded petals. The flower coloration features a rich dark red, almost black shade; it appears almost black at the beginning of blooming and then acquires a deep purple or brownish tint. Stamens are light green with creamy styles, numerous stamens have pale yellow filaments and dark yellow anthers. The scent is mild, making it particularly attractive to those who prefer less aromatic varieties. The plant reaches a height of about 110 cm with powerful but bendable stems. The bush is loose with sparse, large dark green or medium green leaves. This variety lacks side buds, and seeds form rarely. The peony blooms early, usually in late May, allowing it to be used for decorating parks and creating cut flower arrangements. Due to strong stems and striking appearance, it is excellent for decorative greening and floristry. The Seibol variety was bred in the USA in 1943 and is valued for its unusual coloration and flower shape. Its bowl-shaped flowers with strongly expressed contrasting coloration of stamens and pistils create a striking visual image. Despite powerful stems, they tend to bend, which should be considered during planting and care. This peony will be a wonderful addition to any garden, attracting attention with its rare and deep color palette.
