Pelargonium LUCHISTAYA

Cultivation and Maintenance Insights

The 'Luchistaya' geranium, developed by the Federal Research Centre 'Subtropical Scientific Centre of the RAS', is a robust bush-type variety. For the grower, this means a plant that maintains its structure well without excessive pruning or support. It is an excellent choice for container gardening, specifically designed for balconies and indoor environments where space is at a premium.

Key Specifications

• Growth Habit: Bushy and compact, ideal for pots.
• Floral Details: Pink blooms with a diameter of 4–5 cm.
• Foliage: Bright green, round leaves with a distinct serrated edge.

Operating this plant requires attention to light levels. To maintain its tight, bushy form, 'Luchistaya' needs bright, consistent light; otherwise, it may become leggy. A standout characteristic is the strong fragrance of the foliage, which provides a refreshing sensory experience in indoor settings. Maintenance is relatively straightforward: standard potting soil and a regular watering schedule during the growing season are sufficient. Because of its subtropical origins, it handles varying daylight hours well, provided it is protected from extreme drafts.
