Kyiv Nectarine is an early-ripening domestic peach variety, distinguished by its high cold resistance and resistance to diseases such as clasterosporiosis and powdery mildew. The tree has medium growth vigor with a spherical, slightly spreading crown, reaching a height of about 140–160 cm. Self-fertile, which simplifies cultivation, and has good resistance to pests, as well as the ability to recover quickly after severe frosts.
The fruits of this variety are medium to large in size, weighing from 90 to 100 grams or more, with an oval shape and a characteristic 'beak' at the apex. The skin is light yellow, sometimes with a bright striped blush, while the flesh is greenish-white, very tender, juicy, and has a slightly tart-sweet flavor with a good sugar-acid balance (about 9.4% sugar and about 0.9% acid). The seed is elongated and nearly free, facilitating easy flesh separation. Fruit ripening occurs early — in the Kyiv region, typically from mid-July to mid-August.
Kyiv Nectarine is characterized by high yield — about 50 kg of fruit can be harvested from one tree. Due to its excellent taste and juiciness, the fruit is ideal for fresh consumption, as well as for making compotes and jams. The variety is low-maintenance and suitable for both hobbyists and professional gardeners.
