Triumphator

Physalis philadelphica «Triumphator» is a decorative variety that combines high yield and resistance to unfavorable climatic conditions. The plant is characterized by dense spines and deeply dissected leaves, which ensure effective absorption of moisture and light. Thanks to this structure, «Triumphator» grows well both in open ground and in a greenhouse, and its resistance to humidity allows it to be used in various climatic zones.

Fruits of this variety appear from July to September; they are small, bright red, and rich in carotene. The taste of the fruits resembles a combination of tomato and cherry, making them attractive both for decorative garden design and for fresh consumption. The period from germination to the beginning of ripening is approximately 120 days, and the yield can reach one kilogram per plant with proper care.

For successful cultivation, «Triumphator» is recommended to be sown for seedlings in mid-February and transplanted into the soil in the last decade of April – the first decade of May. With early transplanting, the plant should be placed on a slope, with the top facing east, to avoid sunburn in the morning hours at negative temperatures. The plant requires moderate application of phosphorus-potassium fertilizers; pre-addition of wood ash to the hole helps solve this problem.
