Weigela FLOWERING BERRYBUSH

Aesthetics and Hardiness in Landscape Design

Weigela 'Yablonevyi Tsvet' is a selection product from the Botanical Garden-Institute FEB RAS, specifically developed for temperate climates. It is a preferred choice for mid-sized hedges and site zoning, offering a perfect balance of compact size (120–150 cm) and high ornamental value.

Practical Application Scenarios

• Boundary Formation: Reaching up to 1.5 meters, this variety is ideal for marking garden paths and separating functional garden areas without the need for constant formal pruning.
• Contrasting Compositions: The green foliage serves as a perfect backdrop for the bicolor blossoms, allowing the plant to be integrated into mixed borders or used as a focal point in shrub groups.
• Urban Landscaping: Due to its resilience, this variety is well-suited for public parks where predictable growth habits and low maintenance requirements are prioritized.

To ensure profuse flowering, 'Yablonevyi Tsvet' prefers sunny, wind-protected sites with fertile, well-drained soil. Routine maintenance involves annual sanitary pruning immediately after the blooming phase; removing old wood stimulates the growth of new shoots, which will produce blooms in the following season. In harsher winters, applying mulch around the root zone is highly recommended, particularly during the first few years after planting to ensure successful establishment.
