Onion Karat

The CARAT onion variety is an early-maturing vegetable with a vegetative period of 90 to 110 days, allowing for a quick harvest. The bulbs of this variety have a dense, round shape with dry scales of yellow or golden-yellow color, while the inner scales are white and juicy. The average weight of one bulb ranges from 50 to 120 grams. The onion flavor is semi-sharp, making it versatile for various culinary purposes. Maturity at harvest reaches 35 to 100%, and storability is 65-80%, ensuring good storage of the crop. Growing the CARAT variety is possible both by direct sowing seeds into open ground and via seedlings. Sowing is recommended to start in early spring, using five-row tapes with a distance of 15 cm between rows and 40 cm between tapes. Seed sowing depth is 1.5-2.0 cm, after which the soil must be tamped and mulched. For successful growth, seedlings require regular care, including weeding and soil loosening. The yield of the variety reaches 2.0-4.4 kg per square meter, making it a productive choice for gardeners. CARAT onion is not only tasty but also beneficial for health due to the content of essential oils, vitamins of groups B, E, PP, C, as well as macro- and microelements such as copper, zinc, calcium, and iron. These components contribute to strengthening immunity, increasing energy, and protecting the body from cold and viral diseases. Choosing quality seeds and following agrotechnical recommendations allows for obtaining a high and stable yield of this popular vegetable.
