Cabbage Kronos

Technological Advantages of the Kronos Hybrid

The Kronos early white cabbage hybrid from Bayer is a selection solution focused on delivering marketable produce within a tight timeframe. With a maturation cycle of 60-70 days from transplanting, the hybrid demonstrates high head uniformity, which is critical for supply chain planning in the fresh market.

Morphology and Vegetative Potential

The core characteristic of Kronos is its compactness combined with high structural density. The round-oval shape and intense dark green color ensure an attractive presentation that remains intact even during transport. An average head weight in the 0.5–1.0 kg range makes this hybrid ideal for the premium segment and retail chains where portion-sized produce is in high demand.

Why This Hybrid Is Field-Efficient

• Temperature Adaptability: German breeding from Bayer ensures stable root system development even during spring temperature fluctuations, minimizing the risk of premature bolting.
• Head Formation: Tight leaf layering inside the head reduces waste percentages during commercial processing.
• Fresh Market Focus: The orientation towards quick harvesting allows fields to be cleared for a second crop mid-season.

Choosing Kronos is a commitment to operational efficiency. Stable weight and uniform shape significantly simplify packaging processes and reduce calibration costs, directly impacting business profitability.
